- This role is designated to partner with Commercial Solution Areas (CSA) Leadership to ensure that Microsoft has effective controls and monitoring procedures for the CSA Corporate business where we have huge volume emerging risks are being triggered with the new go to market strategies and sales motions to accelarate and drive Cloud Consumption revenue growth across Azure Infrastructure, Data & AI, Business Applications, Modern Work, Digital & App Innovation, Security, and Support and as well as Commercial Surface
- In particular this role will support the Business Led Compliance Rhythms, audits and related remediations, consult on CSA for compliance risk assessment, control designs and mitigations associated with the strategic goals, existing and evolving business processes
In addition, the role will be the primary point of contact representing MCAPS Core Compliance Team in any workstream and projects associated with Microsoft Business Operations team & the Launch Policy and Merging & Acquisitions impacting MCAPS organization.
Responsibilities
To provide strategic leadership for the design and continues improvement of internal controls, risk assessment & mitigations and all compliance efforts associated to Commercial Solution Areas.
As the Control and Compliance contact, drive the Business Lead Compliance Rhythm (BLCR) across CSA
In particular:
Compliance Office & Compliance Committees
- Contribute to the BLCR including the quarterly CSA Compliance Committee. Provide recommendation on topics that should be escalated to CSA compliance Committee.
- Coordinate quarterly compliance community calls with Corp and field
- Support CSA Compliance Champs to drive compliance communications, newsletter or any training as needed
- Ensure Compliance is embedded in business priorities, raise, and support red flags resolutions along with any BRI escalations.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation
- Sustain /conduct risk assessments and continuously monitor emerging internal control risks in the world of Cloud Consumption and update and evolve existing controls and processes to respond to these risks and mitigate them proactively.
- Work closely with the CSA business community to align on new projects, process or communicate any policy updates
- Participate in the design, implementation and monitoring of preventative and detective internal controls and related processes in CSA, MBO Launch and MAVS related integrations across MCAPS
- Ensure integrity and compliance with corporate and local policies and procedures.
- Drive and participate in enhancements of existing corporate and / or local policies (e.g. Marketing Development Funds, Launch policy etc.)
- Ensure business control implementation on any annual corporate initiatives (for example annual Control Vetting cycle, role-based compliance trainings etc.)
Monitoring & Collaboration
- Support the business to monitor compliance dashboard and ensure follow-up on compliance violations
- Provide compliance insight on any existing and new incentive program, special pricing deals and Control Monitoring Insights (CMI) process applicable to CSA
- Detect and report to appropriate Microsoft management any violation or deviation from standards and practices including the code of conduct, laws, and other misconduct.
- Support the Business in Audit reviews and in the implementation of post audit recommendations
Education
- Support the business in internal readiness including in-person training, participation in CSA business all-hands as necessary or required,
- Ensure effective communication and understanding of the Compliance framework, importance, and implications across the business.
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance or related field AND 6+ years of financial compliance experience
- OR Master's Degree in Finance or related field AND 8+ years of financial compliance experience
- OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Governance, Compliance & Risk Management, including experience designing and implementing risk and control frameworks
- Strong cross group collaboration skills, including the ability to influence and impact without authority at all levels of an organization.
- Proven expertise around process excellence including the ability to partner with stakeholders to develop and implement solutions. Includes the ability to critically challenge the status quo.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, interpret, and simplify.
- Strong project management skills, and success leading large, complex projects.
- Positive, creative, can-do attitude with strong analytical and strategic thinking.
- Excellent communication skills: oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
- CPA/CA/CIA/CFE is also preferred.
